Charles Kau : co-founder
Charles Kau has been working in semiconductor industry since 1979. In the early years, he worked in the Bay Area for Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel Corporation as a process engineer for five years. In 1984, Charles returned to Taiwan and served as Manager of Process Development in Mosel Vitelic, Inc. After Mosel, Mr. Kau established Macronix International Co., Ltd. and served as the Director of Fab I in TSMC.
As a pioneer and an internationally renowned manager in the semiconductor industry, Charles Kau was later selected by the Formosa Plastics Group (FPG) to become Executive Vice President of Nanya Technology Corporation, which became the high-technology arm of FPG. Charles has led Nanya in its pursuit of R&D and design excellence as well as the successful production of DDR DRAM thus contributing to DDR’s mainstream acceptance in the DRAM industry. Nanya Technology and Samsung of Korea were the only two profitable DRAM manufacturers in 2002.
Charles currently is the Chairman of Inotera Memories, Inc.and President of Nanya Technology Corp. Charles’ semiconductor industry experience is invaluable to Paradigm for investment analysis and deal sourcing.
